About the Irish Comedy Tour

The Irish Comedy Tour takes the party atmosphere of a Dublin pub and combines it with a boisterous, belly-laugh trio.

The clover -- make that clever -- comedians, whose ancestors hail from the Emerald Isle, include Detroit native Derek Richards; Boston-born Mike McCarthy; Boston Joey Carroll, New York Jim Campbell and from Inchicore, a suburb of Dublin, Ireland Derrick Keane.

Audiences howl at Richards' tales about his mom's dog, the holidays and dating a stripper. He has appeared on The Bob & Tom Show, XM and Sirius, and The Weather Channel's Top 10.

McCarthy's no-holds-barred humor has landed him on Comedy Central and Showtime. The "comedy barbarian," as he calls himself, takes no prisoners when it comes to poking fun at society's most sensitive topics.

Carroll has been described as a cross between George Carlin and Dennis Miller. His no holds barred style has won him the respect of his fellow comedians and the laughter of his audiences. Edgy is his favorite way to work.

Campbell began performing stand up comedy as a teenager in New York. In 2007 his comedy career became a profession when he joined "The Irish Comedy Tour" and started doing stand up comedy in theaters and comedy clubs around the country. As the group talented guitarist, Jim Campbell plays classic Celtic drinking tunes along with traditional comedy songs.

And finally Keane, originally from Inchicore, Derrick first distinguished himself musically when the duo in which he sang and played swept the All Ireland Talent Competition.

The irreverent trio, which just released a DVD titled Dublin' Over, has performed at venues across the country, including the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the Dream Makers Theater at Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

Don't miss these hilarious Irish American comedians as they tear apart as well as validate all of the Irish myths and stereotypes.

The Performers

JIM CAMPBELL
With 2 cd's under his belt named, '358 Hangovers in a Year,' and 'Beer and Fireworks,' how could we not have Jim as our guitar player. His original comedy songs have been featured on radio stations across the country and on satellite radio.
JOEY CARROLL
Joey Carroll's comedy has taken him around the world. He has been invited to use his sharp wit and flawless comic timing for a third tour bringing much needed laughter to our troops around the world. He has just released his latest CD from his last tour to Iraq.
DERRICK KEANE
Originally from Inchicore, Derrick first distinguished himself musically when the duo in which he sang and played swept the All Ireland Talent Competition.
MIKE McCARTHY
Mike is called, 'The Comedy Barbarian' for a reason. His explosive style of comedy that he honed in his hometown of Boston will have you doubled over the whole time. He's oh so very wrong, but so very funny. You've seen him on NBC as well as the Showtime Comedy Club Networks.
DEREK RICHARDS
Florida New Times Magazine says, "The only surprising thing about Derek is that he's not bigger." His comedy reflects his blue collar, Detroit, upbringing. You've heard him on XM Satellite Radio, The Bob and Tom Show and seen him on The Weather Channel's Top 10.
